I never posted the photos from my Dec 2003 entry about the Splendor of Cambodia on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center. So here they are .... Teacher Masady practicing Robam Chhour Chhay on the stage .... The girls practicing Robam Apsara ... Teachers Ming Maly and Om Dy (my aunt) practicing the Robam Monosechetana dance/story... Now, in full costume The group from the Cambodian Buddhist Temple in DC practicing Robam Nesat (The Fishing Dance). I LOVE THIS DANCE! The guys are catching fish w/their traps .. He's handing her a flower to put in her hair ... He's teasing her by splashing water on her ... They rest of the gang are sneaking up on the couple. The embarrassed couple got caught by their friends! Then they say goodbye ... Relaxing in the dressing room before going on stage ... My little wing tip fell off my shoulder! I'm shooting an arrow, see? I call it the stare down, don't mess with me pose or I'll hurt you with my bow and invisible arrow! A group photo of some of us .... Current Mood: happy
